How to approve or log leave on WhatsApp
Whether your employee asks you in person or via WhatsApp; we help you track it, log it, and keep the payslip accurate.
🗓️ Two ways to manage leave and sick days
With AskMandla, leave can be managed either way:
🟢 1. Employee-Initiated Request
Your domestic worker can request leave via this form, and you’ll be asked to approve or decline.
🟠 2. Employer-Initiated Log
If your employee asks you in person or via a call, you can log the leave yourself using this form. We’ll prompt you for the type, dates, and reason and take it from there.
✅ Approving leave requested via WhatsApp
When your employee submits a request, you’ll receive a message like:
“Maria has requested 2 days of annual leave from 5–6 September. Do you approve?”
You simply respond:
-
✅ Approve
-
❌ Decline (with optional reason)
We’ll update their leave balance and reflect it on the payslip automatically.
✍️ Logging leave manually (if requested in person)
If your employee asked you in person, just send:
“Log leave” or “Add absence”
We’ll guide you step-by-step to:
-
Choose the type of leave:
-
Annual Leave
-
Sick Leave
-
Family Responsibility
- Maternity Leave
-
-
- Parental Leave
- Unpaid Leave
-
Enter the start and end dates
-
Confirm whether it's paid or unpaid
-
(Optional) Upload any supporting documents (e.g. sick notes)
📲 It’s all done via this simple leave form.
🤒 Sick leave: What you need to know
If logging a sick day, we’ll ask:
-
Did the employee provide a sick note?
-
Should the day be marked as paid or unpaid?
This helps you:
-
Stay within the employee’s paid sick leave quota
-
Avoid incorrect or untracked deductions
📎 Sick notes can be uploaded via photo (by either party).
📄 How it shows on the payslip
