How to get a bank confirmation letter to prove account ownership

If you're receiving a salary through AskMandla, or you need to update your bank account details, you'll need to provide a valid bank confirmation letter. This is how we confirm that the bank account belongs to you, and that your salary is going to the correct place.

✅ What is a bank confirmation letter?

It’s a one-page official letter from your bank that shows:

  • Your full name

  • Your account number

  • The bank name and branch code

  • That the account is active and valid

It must be:

  • In PDF format (no screenshots)

  • No older than 3 months

  • Downloaded or emailed from your banking app or printed in-branch

  • If your bank account has changed

  • If your employer asks you to confirm your banking details

💳 Capitec

  1. Open the Capitec app

  2. Tap SaveBank confirmation letter

  3. Email or download the PDF

💳 FNB

  1. Log into the FNB app

  2. Tap Accounts → Choose your account

  3. Tap Account optionsBank Letter

  1. Log into the Absa app

  2. Select your account

  3. Tap More or Account options

  4. Select Proof of Account

  1. Log into the Standard Bank app

  2. Tap Accounts → Pick your account
